How many poker players are honest?

Winning a poker game is realistically the ultimate destination for any player putting in his time and energy on poker online. I personally spend approximately 6-9 hours a day playing poker, reading about poker, writing about poker and watching the aces play on videos.

Friends call me a poker junkie, the reality is, poker has become my business. Some people play with investments, some people play on the stock market, where other some people play with land and what can come out from digging in to it, selling it or anything you can really put your imagination to.

Life is a big bad gamble altogether if you think about it; and that’s the reason I don’t feel offended when I’m called a poker junkie, it’s what I’m good at. The problem arises when you ask somebody playing poker online what is the rate on which he losses, and he feels that his a winner at every table he sits on.

Of course winning is the ultimate reason anybody plays, but if feel your never a loser, you should sit down for a moment and think, you should realize that your pattern of thinking is absolutely wrong, moreover I would say, its catastrophic.

My view is that poker is a 70% skill game and a 30% gamble, which means that it’s got nothing to do with scratching tickets or playing the slots or I don’t know playing the roulette (no offense). It’s a different story altogether. You have to think, revise, plan, practice and then play.

My pattern has proved over the years to be successful and I don’t mean fund wise, I mean mentally, I’m here I still love the game, I play poker online daily, I write on this column and I just love maintaining this site and populating the poker extras community with more members.

Before you land on the poker table ask yourself the following questions:

-Do I have the time to play?
-Am I in the mood to play?
-How much can I afford losing?
-Am I becoming desperate for quick money?

If the answers you give to yourself are not worrying you, I would say log on and play! Don’t fool yourself though; poker needs patience and it needs skill. Poker playing is an art never see it as a quick way to make money, because it will end up to be a quick way to lose a whole lot of money!

Winning, needs practice, it needs improvising and it needs patience, if you lack any of the above, it’s simply not your poker day today!
