John Juanda’s poker tournaments career started back in 1996 when he won the World Poker Open Championship in 2001. In the exact following year, Juanda secured his first WSOP bracelet and continued to thrive with success in 2003 when he won 2 more events of the most popular poker event in the world.

John Juanda has been named Poker Tournament Champion of the Year, and was both the 2001 and 2002 Runner-Up in the Card Player “Player of the Year” rankings.
Juanda has also secured three Best All-Around Player awards during his poker playing career and he has landed on 15 final tables in 2004, and also ranked fifth in both the 2005 Five-Star World Poker Classic and the 2005 National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

His most recent achievement was marked in Monte Carlo when he earned approximately $500,000 by winning the Monte Carlo Millions Consolation tournament, ranking sixth in the Monte Carlo Millions Main Event, and landing second on the “The FullTiltPoker.Net Invitational Live from Monte Carlo.”

In 2006, John beat out some of most recognized poker faces of the world including Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein, Jason Gray, and Jeff Lisandro after winning the Aussie Millions Speed Poker Million Dollar Challenge. His victory concluded to a 1,000,000 AUD paycheck making Juanda approximately $750,000 richer.

Juanda’s cash flow continued to boost as he secured top-10 finishes at the 2008 WSOP, ranking seventh in the $5K No-Limit Holdem shootout tournament and sixth in the $5K Pot-Limit Omaha event.

The peak of his poker playing career came in the start of 2008 when he claimed victory in the 2008 WSOP European Series Main Event securing his 4th bracelet and an increase in his bank balance of $1.5 million.

The final table play lasted 19 hours and 10 minutes with a total of 484 hands. His fortune continued to thrive with another paycheck of $570,000 coming from his win on the EPT London £1 Million Showdown.

Juanda continues to be an active online poker player and he is an official member of the Full Tilt Poker team. You will find him on a number of tournaments hosted on the popular US Poker Room.
