Erick got on track a poker playing career when he won his first tournament at the Bellagio in 2002 and sealed that with a WPT win only ten months later. Half a year after that Erick won the Poker Million III, where he whipped away the million dollar top prize.

He made a comeback in 2006, when he ranked third in the WPT No-Limit Hold ‘em Championship event which was held at the Borgata Winter Open.
He continued with a win at the Fourth Annual Five Star Poker Classic and in June 2006, he won $600,000 in the $120,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em event at the “FullTiltPoker.Net Pro Showdown at the Red Rock Casino.”

He continued with four cash outs on the 2006 WSOP, where he finished second in Short Handed No-Limit Hold ‘em to fellow Full Tilt Poker pro Jeff Madsen.
Erick returned back in shape in 2007 after a years rest on the Aussie Millions where he took away the show on the Main Event with more than $795,000 in prize money.

He cashed out a number of tournaments throughout the rest of the year, including 2 top 10 finishes on the WPT and an 8th place finish in the WSOP on the $1,500 No-Limit Hold ‘em Shootout event.

In June of 2008, Erick earned his very first WSOP bracelet. He found his way up through 331 players to finally claim victory in the $5K Mixed Hold ‘em event.
In addition to his WSOP bracelet, Erick earned over $374,000. That victory brought Erick’s career tournament winnings to more than $7 million and moved him to position 20 on the all-time money list.
