Chris Ferguson spent 18 years in UCLA, he has been awarded a Ph.D in Computer Science which makes him Doctor Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, he was discovered when he won TJ Cloutier in the main event of the 2000 WSOP, it was the beginning of a new path for him, a path very much diversified from UCLA.
Due to his computer literacy he stared playing poker online on an IRC channel in times when broadband internet was still a dream. He realized that he was in possesion of a real gift back in 1994 when he started playing in small tournaments in LA.
His star ignited in 2000 when he won his second bracelet following a victory in the 7 card stud event of the championship event, and it continued with another bracelet in 2001 in the Omaha Hi-Lo Split event, his majesty was ratified in 2003 when he put two more wins in his resume.
Ferguson has secured a total of 5 bracelets, he has landed on 25 final tables and he has the record of money finishes in the modern history of poker and WSOP. He has accumulated more than $6.7 million till this day only from his poker play and his participation on the WSOP plus much more from advertising from Full Tilt and other sponsors. Back in 2008 “Jesus Ferguson” scored a victory in the National Heads Up Poker Championship leaving 64 players behind him, he continued with two more amazing finishes in the 2008 World Series of Poker taking positions in 2 major events.
