Betfair Poker Overview
Although it is only offering Texas Hold’em and Omaha, Betfair Poker has managed to build an excellent reputation and a wide player base! Offering reliable software, good promotions and huge figures in monthly tournaments it is slowly but surely building a strong site and loyal players!
Running on privately developed software and an independently run network that is operated by The Sporting Exchange Ltd. Very good stable software, offering notes, multi-table play, mini-view and a play analyst called the “player-buddy” all add to a very, very good site.
The traffic falls into the middle segments of the market and certainly the fact that a very limited number of variations of the game are available is one of the reasons. Statistics of the previous season show 1,200 ring-game players and 4,000 tournament players at peak hours!
Freerolls with great value are offered and players also have the chance to win buy in to live tournaments for 3 consecutive years which is something very new to the market!
Betfair Poker Promotions and Bonuses
All new players play under a bonus scheme which earns you $10 for every 400 Betfair points you gain, valid for 60 days from your first play. Friend referral program is present and is very generous, for every friend you refer the referrer receives $100 and the referred person receives $50 once the referred person accumulates 1,000 Betfair points. People wanting to enjoy the benefits of this program have to log on to Betfair Poker referral site and send their friends the emails from there!
Loyal Players are awarded real money play which they can use to enter tournaments or receive better odds on sports betting! The exchange rate from bonus points to dollars is every 400 Betfair Poker points you can exchange to $10. At Betfair Poker you can accumulate points by simply being dealt cards, as you are not awarded points based on your contribution of rake but to the entire table’s rake.
Betfair Poker Tournaments
A wide variety of single table tournaments and multi table tournaments are offered at Betfair Poker with guaranteed prize pools, attempting to reach out all audiences!
“Sit & Go’s” or single table tournaments as they are called are both a great way to learn poker and the most enjoyable way to play the game. They are quick, exciting and test a range of skills.
The reason that we insist that they’re so good for beginners is that you get to see a lot of hands for a small buy-in and you can easily limit your losses as you can only ever lose your buy-in.
To play a Sit & Go, just choose a game under the ‘Sit & Go’ tab in the tournament lobby at Betfair Poker at stake level you feel comfortable playing for. You will be subject to a tournament fee which is around 10% of the value of the buy-in. Double click on the tournament and then click on the ‘register’ tab. The game will start once all of the seats have been occupied.
Every player starts with the same amount of chips, and in difference with a single table tournament when you’ve lost all of your chips, you’re out, where on a single table tournament you play for other peoples chips. Blinds start off very small and gradually increase in order to ensure that the game comes to an end. Blinds increase at set time intervals depending on whether the tournament has a Super Turbo, Turbo, Standard or Deep Stack structure. The tournament that draws massive numbers is the weekly $55,000 guaranteed tournament. Satellites are also run, including the WSOP, WPT and the EPT.
Betfair Poker Software and Statisitcs
The software is privately owned and not part of any poker network. It is user friendly not to showy but very clear, after the recent update it has gone through in 2007 it has added some very good features including muti-table, mini view, improved graphics and the very unique “Poker Buddy” which analyzes hand history and can be used to browse through played hands.
The usual notes on opposition, flop percentages, average pot size and hands played per hour are available.
Multi Table at Betfair Poker
Simultaneous Play is smoothly run to as many as 15 tables plus extra features which allow you to resize, remove and attach tables. The multi table features are easy to understand and easy to get use to.
Betfair Poker Graphics and Special Features
The graphics are not too showy but are very, very clear and easy to understand therefore allowing smooth and easy play. Preferences can be made to limits, table sizes and currency! Betfair Poker offers many little features which may not be of vital importance, but realisticly sprinkle the magic on what we call an all rounded good site.
