Annie Duke
Annie Duke was born in Concord, New Hampshire and she is a Columbia University graduate in Psychology and English. After completing her bachelor degree she attended the University of Pennsylvania for a degree in psycholinguistics but she didn’t complete her post-graduate studies as she quit the program to become a professional poker player.
Duke is the hot shot when it comes to tournament poker play as she is fairly one of the most respected female online poker players alive, she is the sister of Howard Lederer of Full Tilt Poker team and it is her brother that got her in to the loop of playing poker. Duke is a regular at the ring game tournaments in the Bellagio Las Vegas although she has a strong reputation for being a higher-limit tournament poker player.
Annie Duke has taken over poker tutoring for Hollywood star Ben Affleck which won $356,000 first prize in June 2004 in the $10,000 California State Poker Championship. Duke is a mother of four and that is primarily what makes her so much different from any other poker pro. She does not find any difference in beating male or female players for Duke the goal is winning.

- Duke has finished in tenth position at the $10,000 main event of the WSOP while being eight months pregnant.
- She secured her first WSOP bracelet in 2004 on the $2000 Omaha High-Low event.
- Duke ranked in second position in Limit Holdem back in 1999 and 2003 at the WSOP, and also in the Omaha High Low at the Bellagio World Poker Classic.
- Duke is not only known for her poker playing activity as she is also popular for her television presence in the 2009 NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump and also for her charitable participation as she has managed to gather over $400,000 for charity by playing poker till this day.
- Duke has presented herself in front of congress in November 2007 where she testified in behalf of Poker Players Alliance.
