Allen Cunningham

Allen Cunningham or “Clever Piggy” as he is also known attended UCLA where he had planned on completing atudies in engineering. It was during his studies when he discovered that he possessed a talent in playing poker at one of the local casinos. His success quickly made him leave school and pursue a poker playing career.

Cunningham is known to have an analytic approach towards the game and it is said that this lies behind his engineering background. He has a tendency to remain extremely quiet, controlled and very much focused no matter what happens around him.

His poker playing style has proven to be paying off, as he has been named “Best All Around Player” in 1999 after reaching the final table in five events, including victories in the $300 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo tournament and the $1,000 No-Limit Holdem tournament at the Bicycle Casino’s Legends of Poker.

This was only the beginning for Allen as two years later he secured his first WSOP bracelet in the $5,000 7-Card Stud tournament. That followed a second success in 2002 where he won his second bracelet in the $5,000 Deuce to Seven No-Limit tournament.

His success continued in 2005 as Cunningham managed to reach a total of four final tables leading him to winning the $1,500 No-Limit Holdem tournament. His fourth WSOP bracelet came in 2006 when he won the $1,000 No-Limit Holdem tournament, and finished fourth at the WSOP Main Event earning a total of $3.6 Million.

“Clever Piggy” continued to thrive with success the following year by securing the fifth bracelet of his career in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Holdem event. This was the event that brought him closer to his fellow Full Tilt poker team members Phil Ivey and Chris Ferguson on the bracelet list making him one of the 16 poker pros who have earned five or more bracelets throughout their careers.

Allen enjoys playing a variety of cash games, including Pot-Limit Omaha and mixed games like HORSE. You will find him online at Full Tilt Poker.
